  1. Here’s an experiment in social psychology for you:

The Conservatives announced today that they “want our youth to have the
    best start in life”!

And £9,000 /year tuition fees. And no EMA. And 26% unemployment. And the
prospect of working till you drop, if lucky enough to find an exploiter
    who’ll use you till you’re 75…

Great speech from Red Youths, Dan and Angela! How do we fight cuts and
build a fairer and more sustainable society?

  2. The government giving everyone a blank check to go to college sounds like a
fantastic idea on paper…but look at what it has lead to.
Colleges raise tuition at schools on practically a yearly basis at this
point. $1,000 raise per year is standard. They know that regardless of
what they charge, everyone will go, including the poor, the middle class,
and the rich. The school has no risk, they get paid up front. The
government and the student take all the risk.
At what point is this standard *raising tuition every single year* going to
be so much that the economy really starts to stumble? That is a legitimate
    question which has me worried.

  3. New high school graduates should put a hold on going to college for a few
years. Hopefully this will force colleges to reduce tuition when no one is
attending. It’s totally unfair to students. It tripled since I went to
    college.

“I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead
    the way. “

  4. If you chose a degree that you will not use in your professional life at an
expensive private school, it is YOUR fault. Not your parents, not the
    taxpayers, it is YOUR fault.

  5. I’m able to help you get out of student loan debt. It’s not easy and
required some commitment but this isn’t just a budgeting plan. This is
hardball negotiating, debt reducing, debt freedom time table accelerating
    awesomeness!

  6. My mom better not get her hopes up I’m going back home to live with her
after I graduate. I won’t leave until I pay everything off.

  7. It’s ridiculous how expensive higher education is in America but at the
same time some of these people are just being willfully ignorant. You
signed on for the loans, you should have read the fine print and figured
out how much you’d be paying back once you graduated. It’s called being a
responsible adult, and yes, you are an adult if you’re in college.

  8. Stitched up like kippers. I worked for two years solid, 14 hour days in
construction and saved enough to put myself through college as a mature
student for three years with no outside assistance. It can be done.

  9. If you join the military, you can get credits for college. Not only that,
you go to college for free while in the military.

  10. Here’s my advice to students – don’t choose a useless major, i.e. Art,
history, philosophy, business, political science, English, etc. Try a field
where there are actually jobs like engineering, medicine, IT, etc.

  11. I had over $20k in student loans. My mom still has some left. I actually
was going to drop out of college until I came up with a way to build an
income while in school and help my mom pay hers too. I thought it was a
huge scam but I bought in because of how desperate I was. Right now I am
helping not only pay my and my mom’s student loans but also pay some of the
house’s bills. It can be done! I really encourage ANYONE to try as hard as
    you can on this.

  12. You major is in the BANKS CORPORATIONS & WARS . DON’T GO TO COLLEGE . I
repeat don’t go to college ! Go to people . Each one teach (ONE)! &
LOVEHARD! Ps. ♡MAJOR IN PEOPLE ♥. minor in $FRAUD$.

  13. Most of these people took out student loans to study worthless majors.
German ? Really ? You could’ve downloaded Rosetta Stone or used Duolingo.

  14. Why is college tuition rising every year by 10-20% at a time when average
return is going down? Education business is working like a sick capitalist
regime. We need some laws or audits on these institutions who are raising
    fees every year.

  15. Why do americans think they need to go to college?
Let’s just start with the fact that America has one of the worst
educational systems in the first world. It’s a completely broken system.

On top of that, hundreds of thousands of kids are going to college and
graduating with ridiculous debt. Many people blame the students for
choosing poor degrees as the reason for not being able to pay their debt.
This holds some truth but those people are missing the fact that young
people are brainwashed into thinking they have to go to college. These
young kids with german, poly sci, and philosophy majors (along with many
others) don’t need to go to college and shouldn’t. Unfortunately society
tells them they will be worthless and considered unintelligent if they
don’t go to college. So they all do and get worthless degrees and graduate
with six figure debts. Don’t blame the students. Blame the government and
politicians who tell them they have to go to college to get a decent job.
That is a lie. A college degree doesn’t gaurentee you a good job. it never
has and it never will. Many college graduates can’t find any job. Too many
people go to college. College doesn’t determine if you will be successful
in any way shape or form.

And don’t think I’m hating on education. As George Carlin said “I never let
school get in the way of my education”. There’s many ways to learn besides
    our formalized academic institutions.

  16. Some advice from someone who got scammed by a for-profit college: if a
college advertises on TV then more likely then not it is a scam.

  17. Please sign my petition to make it illegal for American universities to
withhold college transcripts….I need 150 signatures to get this ball
rolling. We need to change this legislation…How can defaulters get a
decent job to pay off the debt if we are denied transcripts? Please go here
    and sign http://wh.gov/lZJ7E

  18. Seriously debt isn’t hard to understand. Just wikipedia present
value/future value or net present value, and you can easily determine the
effects of interest rates, payment amounts, the effects of compound
interest, and the number of payments or term of the loan. Just because you
don’t understand how it works doesn’t make you not at fault or make it the
banks fault. Ignorance of a loans is no different than ignorance of the
law, it’s not a valid excuse. I do agree that school tuition is getting a
little out of hand, but thats what happens when demand is high, price goes
up. While high schools should likely do more to teach about how debt works,
when one is about to make one of the largest investments in oneself, one
ought do some research. Also on a side note, lol @ how many majored in BA’s
instead of BS’s. That would probably indicate where the problem is
    beginning.

  19. Perhaps students should study Xenon and his screw the plebs with the
tortoise and achilles you have been Greeked

  20. Unregulated higher education is destroying everything. When I started my
college career tuition was $16k/yr. That was in 2009. Now that federal
student loans are handed out with just a signature and with disregard to
credit checks my same college is now charging over $60/k a semester. For
their culinary and hospitality program! Its the next bubble! Wait for it to
burst when degree get so expensive they only offer a 15% rti.

  21. Seen comments about internet college. Point me to radiology tech accredited
program online. Don’t think it exist + all the acredited colleges usually
charge a little extra for online.

  22. I am 23 and worked full time while at university took classes at night and
graduated with no debt. My generation is so entitled it makes me sick. IT
IS A LOAN. What did you expect when you took out a loan???? Of course you
have to pay it back with interest.

  23. I’ve read many of these comments, many commentors are blaming the students
for choosing poor degrees as the reason for not being able to pay their
debt. This holds some truth but you’re missing the fact that young people
are brainwashed into thinking they have to go to college. These young kids
with german, poly sci, and philosophy majors (along with many others) don’t
need to go to college and shouldn’t. Unfortunately society tells them they
will be worthless and considered unintelligent if they don’t go to college.
So they all do and get worthless degrees and graduate with six figure
debts. Don’t blame the students. Blame the politicains who promise them a
great job with a college degree. That is a lie. A college degree doesn’t
gaurentee you a good job. it never has and it never will. Too many people
go to college. College doesn’t determine if you will be successful

  24. Yeah, loans are pretty big when you go to higher education. I estimate that
I will have $20000 of debt by the time I graduate, assuming that I
graduate, that is…and luckily, I live in a country where student loans
are interest-free……so maybe that makes a big difference?

  25. Nice.. Video starts off trying to be scurry but ends with hope. People
over-dramatize going into debt…Life will go on. It’s not like your going
to be tied up and burned with cigarettes or locked up and starved. No, you
may not get the job you want right away, you might have to start at the
bottom of the ladder, or you might not. Don’t let Debt define you. Figure
out what college can do for you, please don’t over-borrow, rule of thumb is
to don’t take out a loan too much more then your desired job makes the
first year or two.. In many cases, 20-35K can be pretty manageable. Find a
    loan program with Fixed Interest.

  26. Yeah perfect get a useless degree . why I don’t see a nursing major or Med
school you know some degree that actually matters? Lol

  27. Don’t believe if a person says do whatever you want. They don’t care about
you and they think everything is rosy. Do what the market wants. Watch
Aaron Clarey channel for more on this topic.

  28. it makes it so much more real!!!!

wow thats a new kind of stupid.
dont ignore the debt, educate yourself on what youre getting in to.

most of them saying like its a fun thing to say ” i have 35000 hahaha”
